Remembering a Thriller: Places to Pay Tribute to the King of Pop

Only a select few stars can truly be called icons who changed a generation. Michael Jackson, the man who brought us the moonwalk, the sequined glove, Bubbles the chimp and some of the most popular songs of all time, was certainly one of those superstars. In the wake of his death on June 25 at age 50, here are a few of the important sites from his life where fans may wish to pay tribute to his music and legacy.

Michael Jackson, the boy from Gary, Ind., started out as one-fifth of the Jackson 5, joining his brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon. But by the time he was 20, his solo career was well on its way. He would go on to become one of the most celebrated music stars of all time, earning the moniker King of Pop. Jackson’s last trip to his hometown came in 2003, when he was presented with a key to the city and a street sign bearing his name.
